MOVEMENT MATTERS: Upcoming Workshops 2010 with Bernadette Divilly

Authentic Movement Groups 2010
Authentic Movement is a discipline emerging from Dance Movement Therapy.
The practice is one of witnessing clearly and focusing on moving and being moved.
The ground form involves two roles, that of a mover and a witness. The mover works with eyes closed and from their internal experience including sensation, emotions, images and dreaming. The witness practices the loving art of seeing clearly the other through owning their own thoughts, feelings and sensations.
This practice welcomes the unknown through spontaneous and mindful action.
The following programmes are on offer:
Authentic Movement Professional Group
This group is intended for professionals in the field of psychotherapy, education, arts and health, community development and social research, bodywork and creative arts therapies. Each workshop will focus on teaching the art embodied relationship while minding our business compassionately.
Dates: June 10th 2010
Times: Thurs. 10.00am - 1.00pm
Cost: €300 for four weeks
This group will be ongoing and can be joined on a monthly basis.

Authentic Movement and Contact Improv
The practice of Authentic movement helps us to develop our presence. Contact Improv Dance supports people to move together in a social way where we can invent and explore through spontaneous physical contact. In this workshop we will explore the principles of movement from these two dance forms.

Authentic Movement and Our Immune System
The cellular processes that support health require us to know our bodymind. Our immune system is supported when we process emotion, express ourselves creatively and authentically, and cultivate our relationships consciously. These are fundamental skills practiced in authentic movement. In this workshop we will look at the connection between research on the immune system by Dr. Candace Pert and the principles and practice of Authentic Movement.

Developmental Psychology in Action: Early Beginnings
Early learning experiences inform our development of personality. In the unfolding dance between our biology and our environment, we create and are created.
These workshops focus on neurological development in the first year of life and early developmental actions and patterns. Different themes including exploring sense and perception, bonding and boundaries wlll be explored in these sessions..

Dance of Pleasure Celebration
This is a two-day ritual workshop both indoors and outdoors that celebrates the rites of passage of the young girl and woman. This workshop should be of particular interest to women who have already participated in the Path of love.

Dance of Conception and Birth
Life begins with contact between egg and sperm. In the unfolding dance of conception, implantation, differentiation and development in the womb we grow ourselves for life on land. We are born.
In these workshops participants will explore through sensory explorations, visualisation, meditation, movement and guided study the early stages of development.
It is an opportunity for people to explore how these early imprints can be useful movement supports in shaping current experience.
